For the past two years, I have worked as the Audio and Video Specialist for Norma Kamali, a fashion designer in New York City. This has been my most multi-faceted role of my career, as I work as her podcast producer, livestream technician, audio/video technician, social media video editor, and so much more.

Below are some samples of the videos I have created while at Norma Kamali.

  • NORMAKAMALIFE Podcast | Leandro Fornito (Leo.Moves)

NORMAKAMALIFE Podcast | Leandro Fornito (Leo.Moves)

Leandro Fornito, better known by his Instagram handle, Leo.Moves, captivated Norma with his Animal Flow exercises. He flew out to NYC from Zurich to speak with Norma and to teach a class to her employees.

As Norma’s podcast producer, Director of Photography, and editor, I recorded both the podcast and the workout session on the six robotic cameras. I then edited the podcast using b-roll from the workout, color graded, mixed audio, and prepared the graphics that were not only used as the backdrop on Norma’s LED video wall, but also became the introduction to the podcast.

  • NORMAKAMALIFE Podcast | Dr. Nir Barzilai

NORMAKAMALIFE Podcast | Dr. Nir Barzilai

Dr. Nir Barzilai is an Isreali-born doctor working at the Albert Einstein college of medicine, where he leads studies into human genetics and the biology of aging. As a woman who wants to live well into her 100’s, his work fascinated Norma for many years.

As Norma’s podcast producer, Director of Photography, and editor, I recorded both the podcast and the workout session on the six robotic cameras. I then edited the podcast , color graded, mixed audio, and prepared the graphics that were not only used as the backdrop on Norma’s LED video wall, but also became the introduction to the podcast.

  • NORMAKAMALIFE Podcast | Physique 57

    NORMAKAMALIFE Podcast | Physique 57

Ever since Norma walked into Physique 57’s first studio in Midtown Manhattan, she was hooked on their unique style of fitness. So much so, in fact, that she has made it a point to have their instructors come to her offices to teach her employees their core exercise program!

  • NORMAKAMALIxPhysique 57 | Workout Clip for Social Media

In order to promote a healthy lifestyle for women, Norma Kamali provides her employees with a Physique 57 workout three times a week. That workout is then livestreamed so that her customers can join in for free!

After recording and livestreaming the workout, I edited the footage into short, high energy clips for social media, taking the instructor's isolated microphone audio and editing it to match sped-up footage. These clips were used to promote the workouts which live free on the Norma Kamali website.

  • NORMAKAMALIxLifestyle Hacks | Q&A-Life Lesson

During a live event to show off her Lifestyle collection, Norma reminisced about her career and answered questions from the audience related to her brand. One of those questions pertained to the biggest life lesson she learned.

I recorded and livestreamed this event using robotic cameras and provided live audio for the audience. I then re-mixed the audio, color graded the footage, and edited several shorts for social media, as well as the entire event in two parts, the Lifestyle Hacks, and the Q&A session. I added overlays provided by the graphics team, and generated subtitles and added them onto the video.

  • Fashion Hacks: How to store your Norma Kamali Sleeping Bag Coat

Possibly the most iconic design Norma ever came up with, the Sleeping Bag Coat, which was created using a real sleeping bag in the late 1970s, has become a staple in every collection she has produced.

In this video, I filmed (iPhone) Norma demonstrating how to roll up and store the sleeping bag coat, recorded her audio, and edited this short for social media.

  • Norma's Life: The Eighties On My Own - Shoulder Pads

As part of a series of videos showcasing stories from Norma’s life and career, “Shoulder Pads” tells the story of how a revolutionary idea in women’s fashion propelled Norma to unseen heights.

I edited this from audio taken from a documentary shoot that was shot, but never used. The audio was edited and used as voiceover for images taken of her collections during the 1980s.
